All students at Riverview State School have access to a range of support programs. These include but are not limited to:

Learning support

Students who are identified as have academic difficulties are identified and support programs are developed to be implemented in the classroom by the class teacher or in one on one or small group situations by the class teacher aide or Inclusion teacher.

Inclusion programs

Students who are identified as being behind their age expectations but are still making progress academically are supported through the inclusion program. This involves targeted small group sessions developed in collaboration with the class teacher to develop identified skills and understanding and implemented through half hour sessions with the Inclusion Teacher.  These programs are established at the beginning of each term and run for between eight and ten weeks.

Behaviour support

Students requiring support for behaviour are identified and individual programs developed to meet their needs. These programs are developed collaboratively by the class teacher, Behaviour advisory teacher, Guidance officer and school administration.

A range of other programs are imbedded into the Riverview State School pedagogical framework to ensure all students are seen as individual and that their individual needs are met academically, socially and emotionally.

The school curriculum is designed to provide specific support for Language learners and English as a second language students as well as actively teaching behaviour expectations, promoting and celebrating cultural diversity and developing student wellbeing.
